Europium Oxide powder is a highly insoluble thermally stable Europium source suitable for glass, optic and ceramic applications. Europium oxide powder has a cubic structure similar to that of manganese oxide and may be formed by ignition of europium metal. Europium oxide forms europium salts when it reacts with acid. Europium Oxide powder is generally immediately available in most volumes. Ultra high purity and high purity compositions improve both optical quality and usefulness as scientific standards. Nanoscale elemental powders and suspensions, as alternative high surface area forms, may be considered. In energy efficient fluorescent lighting, Europium provides not only the neccessary red, but also the blue. OxideHigh Purity (99.999%) Europium Oxide (Eu2O3) Powder compounds are not conductive to electricity. However, certain perovskite structured oxides are electronically conductive finding application in the cathode of solid oxide fuel cells and oxygen generationsystems.
